Our Story
Hmmm... Where to begin....
Some of the family is aware of the situation, some are not.
1965: A time of turmoil for many, I,a girl of 16, was a victim of a brutal rape.
The times being as they were,
this was a terrible thing, kept to families it happened to,
always trying to keep it in the dark.
There was a child involved. Being a child myself, from a large family, this baby was placed in adoption on August 15,1966.
Adopted to a good catholic family at the age of three months, she was named Jennifer Marie.
And today, August 5,1999, at 32 years of age, after years of searching, mounds of
paper work and red tape, relentless phone calls, she finally reached me.
I can't begin to tell you the feelings I had the day I first set eyes on her, fear, joy, amazement at her beauty.
Concern for the fear
I saw in her eyes and the pain I saw because she was afraid herself.
We are taking it day by day, we spent a few brief hours together, talking of her search, looking at pictures we had both brought with us.
We talk on the phone a lot, trying to fit 32 years into a few brief minutes. Soon I will meet her husband and three children. And we will all be united.
I haven't met her adopted mother yet, but I definitely will!
I have so much to say to this wonderful woman. I thank God for her
and her husband. There are no words to thank this angel for keeping my daughter
safe and so graciously standing beside her as she searched for me.
I've put a few pictures of Jen in her early years at the bottom of this page.
She certainly has a few of the "Family traits"!
